Ironically, some of the support can be found in Steve Attewell's discussion of the Fist's weaknesses, although he doesn't go as far as to suggest the more sinister explanation for its shortcomings, which I outline below: This has been suggested elsewhere, but I've never seen anyone really make a case for it.
